Exploring Milliput Online Workshop. 16.05.25 10am- 4pm (GMT)
Milliput is a versatile epoxy putty which is highly adhesive to most materials. Milliput can be sculpted and once cured can be machined, drilled, tapped, carved. Turned, filed, sawn, sanded and painted.
On this day workshop you will be introduced to the medium of Milliput and explore its properties, potential and limitations. Once you have mastered a few basics your creativity can run wild with creating beautiful and completely unique elements for your jewellery designs.
Your workshop will be structured as follows
· Welcomes and general chat about Milliput, materials, safety and approach to design
· Gemma will guide you through mixing milliput and its properties at each stage of setting/curing
· Creating beads
· Creating pendants and connectors, embedding wires
· Adding texture (pre cure)
· Embedding gemstones and other embeddable items
· Setting a cabochon
· Freeform modelling
· Using molds
· Using Mica powder pre cure.
Setting time varies for each piece and it is unlikely that you will have many pieces that are ready for sanding.painting. and so the last hour of the workshop will be dedicated to demonstrating these techniques ready for when your items are fully set.
